Sebacic Acid
Sebacic Acid is a derivative of Castor Oil. It is available as white flake, crystal powder or granular and belongs to the group of dicarboxylic acids. Its salts and esters are referred as Sebacates.
Description
The reaction with hexamethylene diamine creates a polyamide, called nylon 6.10. Sebacic Acid is mainly used as a raw material for the production of lubricants and coolants, but also for the production of antifreeze and plasticizers.
In the United States, HELM has several warehouses that stock Sebacic Acid in all kinds of packaging sizes available for prompt shipment.
Examples of applications
Sebacic Acid is mainly used in the production of lubricants and greases, coolants, antifreeze, coatings, plasticizers, polyamides and polyesters. Nowadays bio based polymers can sometimes contain Sebacic Acid as well.
